A mexican kitchen and tequila bar, Black Agave was seeking after a logo on a black background with an agave plant and rustic, retro look. While the distressing helps age the logo a bit, it’s the western serif’s on the font for “Black Agave” that give it a bold, rustic look. Framing it with the lines and spiraling designs give it shape and character.

Carrot + Cream | by Rick
Carrot + Cream specializes in homemade custom cakes and ice creams created from scratch with quality ingredients. She wanted a logo that looked “handcrafted in love,” so the hand drawn/sketched look seemed appropriate. The color palette used invokes the earthy, organic theme. The font used compliments the hand drawn carrot and cream. Plus the arrange meant of the text and image of the carrot and cream creatively show the name two different ways.

Chai Time Cupcakes | by edesigners
A storefront business that serves mini cupcakes and chai. They have interest in expanding into a larger variety of both, online and in store. They needed a logo that was elegant, sophisticated, modern, and classy. The graph of the cupcake cleverly incorporates time with the addition of the clock hands. The way the cupcake icing swivels up doubles as steam coming off the chai.

The Cone | by Hellgion
Folks, this is a real place. The Cone is an ice cream store shaped like a giant ice cream bowl, and this is what it looks like! The orange/brown colors pop off of the white background. The building design is simplified in this logo without becoming too minimal. It’s an instantly recognizable design that was very well illustrated.

Hungry Hippie | by shida
Located at the beach beside a mini-golf course, the Hungy Hippie is a food vending trailer selling juice, coffee, smoothies, and tacos. They needed a round logo that had red and yellow in it. It had to appeal to all ages and include sun rays in the background. This illustration has great highlights, especially along the face and hair, with a bright color palette.

Krumbz | by ingepro
Appealing to upscale clients with their artistic cakes, Krubmz wanted a logo that featured their creatively designed baked goods and some actual crumbs. Using brown ties into the bakery theme, making you think of breads, pies, and cakes, while the lime and pink add zest and life to the design. The graphic of the cake/pie/cupcake is simple, but with enough detail to make it appealing.

Mardi Makes Cakes | by igor1408
Mardi makes cakes, specifically custom, artistic specialty cakes. For her logo she desired an classy look that expressed her artistic side. To achieve this look swirls and curls were included, along with a tiered cake. The swirls pop out from behind the cake in a way the pushes it to the forefront. Overall a beautiful and elegant design.

A texas themed restaurant site, MenuTex has menus, news, and reviews. The most important thing for the client was keeping the logo simple. In this icon is a brilliantly minimal bull, but it’s the added touches that make it bold. The shape of the head and horns have accents that could have been missed, giving it character. The warm contrasting colors add flavor to the design.

Nectar Cakes & Ice Cream | by veron
Nectar creates cakes, ice cream, and breads. For their logo they wanted to include some dripping honey and a blue background. Honey is dripping from the “N” in Nectar, beautifully contrasted by the magenta. The graphic of the dripping ice cream is so well done I want to lick the screen to keep it from falling. The bright colors pop so much they truly make the mouth water for some exotic dessert.

Nikki’s Nutrition Kitchen | by veron
Using the idea of farm to table eating, Nikki is a nutritional caterer and speaker who caters to corporations and daycares for lunch. She wanted an illustration of herself wearing a red checkered apron whiled juggling fruit. Having the apron flow out from the circle creates an illusion of depth. The final design is bold and fun due to the bright colors and playful illustration.

The Noble Pie | by Ajan
TNP is a pie company committed to using whole, ancient grains for the crusts and local, organic meats and produce for the fillings. For the logo they wanted a wooden garden lattice with a whole stem of hibiscus flowers woven through it in a circular shape (to give the image of a pie). Including some honey bees helped give the image of being natural. This illustrations works so well because of the realistic colors used.

Once Upon A Truffle | by ingepro
Elegant, creative, vintage, and slightly fairytale was the direction given for this home-based desert shop. The whimsical frame with curves to spare play on the elegant/fairytale angle. The cursive font is fun without becoming childish. The gold/mint green combo compliments each other well. Overall a great example of a fun/professional design.

Pescetarian.Kitchen | by DezignLogic
A pescetarian eats a vegetarian diet with fish mixed in. They emphasize fresh ingredients in all recipes that tend to focus on seafood dishes. This specialist food blog needed a logo that incorporated the bright greens and yellows with grey for a sophisticated design. The icon delivers perfectly, a speech bubble showing a fish and carrot literally tells me they are talking about fish and vegetables.

Puzzles Cake Studio | by alel
A modern custom bakery, Puzzles sough to represent a classy but kid friendly business. The focus needed to combine the elements of puzzle pieces and an abstract layered cake. Connecting the cake layers with the puzzle pegs is a great idea. Having the top of the middle layer slightly skewed creates an element of playfulness, if it were straight it may come across as cookie-cutter. The light stripes and cherry on top of the cake elegantly wrap this design together.

Scalded Hog BBQ | by Rick
Scalded Hog is a competition BBQ team wanting a bold design that would fit on a black background. Using yellow breaks away from the expected red/silver color scheme of many competition BBQ teams. The crossed carving knives indicate a readiness for match. Scalded Hog stands out with a combination of color contrast, metallic shine, and depth with the black outline.

Southern Oak BBQ | by boybud40
A catering company with dreams to start their own restaurant, Southern Oak BBQ needed a logo that would stand out on a variety of mediums. They wanted to avoid flames, cartoon characters, and knives, instead focusing on a stamped look with a pig in the design. The curves of the frame give this design a particularly “southern” look, the distress on the pig adds some age.

Streets of Philly | by VonDrake
With the goal of becoming a franchise, Streets of Philly is a fast food startup whose main dish is, you guessed it, the Philly Cheese Steak. They were looking for a fun design with multiple elements that had a slightly vintage look. Food can be difficult to tackle in vector images sometimes, but this philly cheese steak is easily recognizable with enough detail to be appetizing. Wrapping the street sign, road, sandwich, and name in a badge accomplishes the vintage look.

Sweet Blooms Cupcakes | by jaize
This logo is so sweet it won our Logo of the Month contest in December, 2013! SBC is a little chic online bake shop whose signature product is a gorgeous “cupcake bouquet,” which are a bundle of cupcakes that look like flowers. They wanted to have focus on the name, Sweet Blooms, to highlight their signature product. It’s broken down into a beautiful three color graphic in this design.

Sweets by Gabriella | by abss
Gabriella creates custom cakes, sweets, and treats. She brought the idea of an elephant balancing a cake on its trunk. She also wanted the ear to be an orange heart with polka dots inside. It’s brought to life in this design. The elephant is playful and happy, smiling with its mouth and eye. The serried font gives a contrasting image of professionalism. Using a slightly “peachy” orange color give the whole logo some visual taste.

Tater & Joe’s Coffee Grounds | by yoecha
A quick service restaurant/coffee shop that specializes in loaded baked potatoes. They requested a fun logo that included a cartoon potato holding a coffee cup. The red/yellow/black is a great combination for the food industry. The faces of the cartoon potato and bean invoke a feeling of coolness and friendliness.
