Looking for an affordable for your business logo? If you’re budget and schedule are both tight, we’ve got a logo design contest option just for you!
48hourslogo has worked with thousands of small business owners and entrepreneurs since 2010. One thing we quickly realized is that many people starting a business are on a budget. Even the best prepared tend to go over budget on some things. Because we understand this, it’s lead to the development of one of the best logo design option, one you won’t find anywhere else online: the initial payment contest
Initial Listing shown with $150 prize amount, no upgrades.
For an initial payment of $29, you can start your contest as you would if you were paying in full, with a 48 hour window for the Qualifying Stage. During this time, usually within the first couple of hours, you will begin to receive your first submissions to consider. Our large community of logo designers will read your brief and begin crafting customized, original logo designs. You can comment and rank them as you normally would, guiding them along through revisions.
It’s a way to test the waters, so to speak. If you’re hesitant about what our Design Community can offer, or not sure exactly what you want for yourself, or think you may have too complicated of a concept in mind, starting a contest with the initial payment allows you to see what our logo designers can come up with. The ideas you had in mind might not turn out as you had envisioned, or a designer may come from out of left field with a different interpretation of your brief and show you a logo you absolutely love! It’s a bit exciting seeing what they can come up with.
Once you’re ready to move forward, simply pay the remaining balance on the contest (the prize amount you set, listing fee, any upgrades) and the $29 counts towards your total. It’s not required at the end of the 48 hours though. If you need a week to sit on it, run the designs by business partners, friends, or family, feel free to do so. Your contest will stay available to you, just log in and complete it when you’re ready. Contests are officially considered “abandoned” after 45 days of inactivity, but we’ve had some people come back 10 and 12 months later to finish their contests. I wouldn’t recommend it, but those have been extenuating circumstances.
When the payment is received, the second stage opens up allowing you to select Finalists for design revisions. From that point on you can end out the contest as if it were paid in full from the start.

Most online logo contest sites hover around $300 to start a contest. Some won’t even let you see their prices until you’ve already filled out a few pages of information about yourself and your company. We realize that approach doesn’t work for everyone. That’s why we allow you to set your own price for the contest, with a minimum of $99. If you can afford to set a higher prize, you can expect more designers, that’s true. But our designers consider more than just the prize of a contest. Some find their strengths in certain industries, others look for the most creative freedom, and some look for something interesting in the brief that sparks their interest. Taking a look at our Live Portfolio will show a variety of styles and designs for contests set from $99 to $1,000 dollars. It’s all on what you’re able to afford.
So take a chance for just $29. We’re confident that when you see what our designers can do, you’ll want to finish the contest. Each day many business owners roll the dice with us and find the right logo for the right price. Plus it will be a quick turn-around, you won’t have to wait a week to see what your new logo could be.
