Want to see what an amazing logo design looks like? I’ve picked out twenty two of my favorite contest winning designs from February.
As some of you may know, my name is Rick and I’m the Community Manager here at 48hourslogo. I LOVE logos. I love vector artwork. Seeing a well executed design makes me excited. So I wanted to share with you some of my favorite designs from February.
What makes an amazing logo design? As an art form, it can be a bit subjective. There are many factors that go into creating a logo. Does it speak to its audience? Did it use any logo cliches’? Does the contrast mess with your eyes? I could go on.
I’ll point out why these logo designs work for me. Why they get my heart pumping. There are amazing logo designs created by our Design Community each month. Here are my “Rick’s Picks” for February
AMAZING LOGO DESIGNS FROM FEBRUARY
Southern Oaks Dental Center
“Great working with you! Thanks for your creativity!“ – JJenk917
The trees are teeth! The lighter green shading on the inside of the teeth are a nice touch. Visually pairs well with the brown.
Ockee
“Very timely responses and changes made exactly as requested. Excellent work!” -Elisa
I wish there were eight tentacles and eight sides instead of six, but it works. The tentacles are well done and repeat nicely even though they take the corners differently. Plus that blue gradient is a knock-out on a white background.
Liftopotamus
“Great working with TOTODALUS, lots of revisions and detailed artwork.” -gwuchte
That hippo is buff! Very intense looking, definitely masculine. Love that it works as black on a color, overall cool illustration.
Franklin Strength
“VERY GREAT TO WORK WITH AND LISTENS PERFECTLY. VERY HAPPY WITH HIS WORK AND COULD NOT ASK FOR A BETTER DESIGN! “ -FranklinStrength
I like the straight lines to create the fist. In a minimal way, it’s sort of cave-manish. That style matches the sharp lines of the bolts coming out on each side. Because of the subject matter, it looks tough with the distressing.
Florida Meals
“worked & replied with urgency, highly recommend “ -markjwcarr
Once again, bright colors give energy to this tropical logo design. The Palm Tree graphic mixes it up as the letter “l”. The leaf dotting the lowercase “i” is a nice touch. Finally, the grey, all caps tagline looks very professional here.
Climate Love
“Sorjen is a fantastic designer who is very creative and responsive to new ideas! Thanks again!” -agentimon
I get the modern, ground-roots movement feel from this design. The rounded corner triangle under the hear calls to conversation, reminding us of a word bubble. I think the simplified globe for the “O” is very appropriate for the “climate” subject matter here.
Hoop Diamonds
“She was an absolute pleasure to work with, met and surpassed my expectations for the logo, and I look forward to working with here in the future!” -HoopDiamonds
Great colors, great glare, but what really makes this stand out if the design of the icon. It’s longer than the Superman Diamond, distancing it from that. This design shows strength because you can picture it in black and white and it is still recognizable.
Hoku Imaging
“A perfect logo, done quickly and professionally. The designer responded rapidly, and did everything I asked.” -CCOE
I won’t lie to you folks, I’m a bit of a sucker for shield designs. I really like how akilis13 combined the security camera with the shield. The color break up is good, it’s interesting, while still remaining obviously a security camera.
PsychAdviser
“Thank you for your hard work on our logo. We are very excited to start using it. Keep up the good work.” -kmforpsych
I’ve noticed a trend this year using one letter in a text logo as an icon or illustration. This logo successfully incorporates healing hands as the “Y”. Adding some green leaves give it a natural branches look.
Animal Smart Training
“Amazing design, competition was not even close! Responded quickly to feedback, made desired changes and delivered a logo I am in love with.” -AndreaBogle
I’ve seen the negative space animal heads, it can be a bit of a logo cliché combining cats and dogs. This design by avatar steers away from that combining a dog, dolphin, and bird!
See Stephen Read Entertainment
“Excellent work, from both a technical and conceptual perspective (and also very fast). Very happy with the final product and hope to work with Boomski again in the future!” -csreedabc
Based on this design, I bet Stephen’s middle name is fun! Minimal design is made interesting but the bright, unique colors, and the vertical hipster glasses.
Fitbugs
“We were really excited by what the designer produced and with the competition process as well. It is a great concept and it makes it a whole lot easier to get a final product that you are happy with. This particular designer gave us everything we asked for and more. They were always was able to recreate our vision without any hiccups.” -murph82
This ladybug is a kettle ball! And it’s blue! Love the combination of elements, speaks loudly as a visual. I hope they get custom printed/wrapped kettle balls that look like this.
Louisville Luxury Automotive Detailing
“Top of the line design, easy to bounce ideas with, A+! “
Loving the glare and shine, so appropriate for a detailing business. Major props for creating a visually appealing automotive logo without using a silhouette of a vehicle.
Premier Windows & Doors
“Excellent work. Great interaction and results. Very pleased with the process and the final product.” -allanmrudd
It may not seem like much, but window logos can be especially difficult to visualize. I think suraj_greenweb knocked it out of the park by shooing two of the window panes as opening doors. It brings life to this amazing logo design.
PlayToday.se
“Suraj has done a fantastic job! Thank you very much!”
I’ll say this, I used to be a hardcore gamer as a teenager. I instantly understood what this company does with that logo (you can download games from them to play), didn’t even need to know the name. Great job on a highly communicative logo!
ToxicFork
“Great work, excellent logo! Looking forward to using it 🙂” -toxicFork
May be my favorite logo our of the bunch. I would like to see the word “Fork” and the actual fork a little darker grey. Maybe add some grit or inconsistency to the shape of the skull. But it’s got a lot of character, and I love it for that. Plus Blair ITC is so underused as a font. Great choice.
Splashytees.com
“Bedjo you are the best! We absolutely love our new logo!! It’s more than we could imagine and ever expected. We wish you the best in all your endeavors. Thank you so very much!“ -Splashytees
BAM! You’re soaked now! That’s how I feel when I see this logo. It jumps out at you. The text is amazing in a bold, 3D style. And the colors are all right. Wouldn’t change a thing, and they didn’t even have to use a silhouette of a t-shirt.
DJ Victor Nova
“Rykos was excellent to work with…fast with the logo responses and willing to help…thx again RYKOS “ -Vnova
Sharp font. Using a record as an “O” in “NOVA” really catches my attention. The metallic affect isn’t overdone, it’s smooth, it flows. Just like I imagine the beats do.
Brevard Family Wellness Center
“Quick making changes requested. Listened to what I wanted in the profile. It was a very positive experience. Thank you!“ -perrone5377
Swooshy people are definitely a logo design cliche, but not swooshy people making a tree! Maybe not a lot of difference to you, but I think it works well with the multi-colored butterflies.
Harma Chariot
“Very accommodating to my request for revisions, prompt and great designs!“ -maranda01
The Greek is strong with this one. The icon’s border is definitely Greek. Love how the “HC” monogram in the middle is symmetrical. Works as a pattern and initials. Harma Chariot/Republik – please use the “HC” monogram as a pattern!
Honey Bee Baby
“It was so nice working with Nafisa! She was very quick to get back to me, patient with my design changes, and very creative! Thanks Again!! “ -Hbblv
Now that is one cute Honey Bee Baby! The font combination is highly attractive, especially for this market. The added pacifier in the baby bee is very clever.
Imperium Firearms Corporation
“Ultimatum was great to work with!!!! Always got design revisions in on a timely manner and extremely talented as well!!!” -imperiumfc
The triangle is a powerful symbol of authority and strength. Love how Ultimatum combines it with the phoenix and makes it part of the design. The sharpness of the bird’s feathers and wings match the font very well.
