With all the amazing logo designs coming out of 48HoursLogo each month, it’s easy to miss some. In this post I’ve compiled my top picks from June, 2014 that you just have to see!
So what makes these logos so special? Why are they in this particular order? Don’t you ever get tired of seeing so many logos? I’m glad you asked! I will tell you why each design is special, what creative elements were used to make it stand out, and what the new owner of the logo has to say about it. I’ve ordered them alphabetically to avoid any accusations of favoritism or wasting time coming up with complex ordering systems. The alphabet works just fine, so it’s all left to the name. And I love good design, creating and critiquing it. So as long as our Design Community keeps putting it out, I’m excited to take a look at it.
I’ve chosen these logo designs carefully. If they were covered in one of our 48HoursLogo.com Originals list I left it out of this one. As such, these designs may be a little more unique or not quite fit in a particular category, but are noteworthy none the less. So let’s get started!
I present to you, in my opinion, some of the best logo designs from June, 2014!
AppMaker | by Scriotx
We start off with a little different kind of contest. AppMaker Business creates Android and iPhone mobile apps for businesses. They had recently purchased the rights to a design, but wanted to give it some more power to use as a logo. This final design by Scriotx delivers a beautifully polished 3D rendering of the design. The colors are bright, the glare is well done, and it really pops off the white background.
“J0s3Ph is very professional and was very easy to work with. Quick turnarounds and attention to detail made it easy to select him as a finalist, and ultimately the winner. I highly recommend him.”
Party logo design | by Nafisaparween
Who wouldn’t have fun at this place? Bash-N-Bounce rents inflatable houses and party supplies. This logo is overall well done, but it’s greatest triumph lies in the illustration of the bounce castle. It captures the wavy, inflated shape of bounce houses, large and swaying in the wind. The colors are easy on the eyes, yet vibrant and kid-friendly. The addition of the confetti and balloons capture the impression that a party is underway.
“Great job of working with us to get the concept finalized! She was very responsive and helpful, especially since I had a bunch of people I needed to make happy with the logo! “
App logo design | by xiaolanmao393
A helpful app that opens the navigation app from your calendar appointments and automatically brings over the address to your destination! The CalenDrive logo is beautifully modern, in colors, layout, and concept. The calendar as the grill of the car is clear and unique. Containing the car in a circle alludes to a steering wheel. It definitely looks like something you would see in an app store.
“Love it, thank you.”
vintage logo design | by DezignLogic
CCC sells hand crafted cotton bow ties to southern college fraternity members. They are looking to expand to other cotton products soon and needed to update their logo. I particularly love the horse and lamp stand image. They evoke an older time, a more “classic” time, if you will, in which cotton bow ties were common place. A time before modern cars and streetlights. The highlighting of the horse in a bold peach color makes it stand out above the black/white colors. Using a traditional script font and serifed font for “Cotton” tie it all together in a timeless way.
“Worked really hard on the design and went above and beyond my expectations. Friendly and easy to work with, and I love the logo! “
Wedding logo design | by chuckiey
CCW creates custom wedding invitations, hand crafted and hand stamped. They needed a logo that reflected their craftsmanship in a chic and sophisticated way. First off, the pink color works because it isn’t too bright, but a softer, slightly peachy color. Easy on the eyes and not a common shade. The two swans in the middle playfully form a heart with their necks – a great allusion to the wedding ceremonies they work for. I like the addition of the dotted ring outside the swans too, it adds a touch of class.
“Chuck was diligent in tweaking my logo to make it perfect. He gave me excellent customer service and always responded in a timely manner. “
Daxiong Pizza | by Shida
This logo didn’t make the list because pizza is one of my favorite foods. It’s also not because of the awesome illustration of the pizza delivery guy (well, maybe a little). The client had a very specific vision for this logo that included a clever twist. You’ll see on the actual pizza box that the logo doesn’t have the man’s face, but a bear’s face! Daxiong means “Big Bear” in Chinese. The swap in faces is used to represent the man/bear as the mascot. Excellent execution by Shida means this client got exactly what they wanted.
“Shida is incredible, took a lot of comments (I had something very specific in mind) and knew how to make it work. I am incredibly happy with my logo, and would recommend Shida to anyone looking for something fun and cool! “
East Bay Sea Serpents | by fabil
Northern California is home to a swim team for mentally disabled athletes, ages 5 – adult. They are represented by the Sea Serpents. This design has a fierce looking sea serpent rising out of the water. The illustration looks great as a one color design. The text in the logo is equally nice, modern and athletic with a touch of asian flair to the lettering.
“fabil did excellent work and superior customer service! I would absolutely with with them again. A++ “
Get Evidence Now | by fabil
It’s big. It’s bold. Using the black/red/white combo with the fingerprint remind me of solving a mystery. The Magnifying glass reinforces that. All together this logo is strong and clear. It gives a good look to private investigator, Bill Robison.
“Great work. Good communication. Will invite fabil on future projects.“
Iron Ronin | by Shida
A brand with a samurai theme, Iron Ronin is a mobile fitness training service. Made up of many great elements, my favorite would have to be the consistency in the kanji characters and the samurai silhouette. It is enhanced by their likeness. The mountain looks strong in the background. The kettle balls in the text clue you in that this is a fitness logo. The overall design is strong in powerful, set in a red, white, black color combination.
“It was a pretty simple process, the logo was better than I expected or had in mind. Thank you very much for the design.“
Katie Young’s Cakes | by ingepro
A cake artist in both formal and novelty cakes, Katie wanted a logo that would help her target more wedding business. Ingepro delivers with this bold and elegant design. What stands out the most to me is the frame the cake is in. It almost reminds me of a french-style mirror. But it does its job well, bringing attention to the amazing illustration of one of Katie’s wedding cakes.
“I love my logo!!! Thank you for listening to what I was asking for and creating that exact design. I appreciate all of the time you put into my project. Ingepro you’re a winner!! “
Kristine Pfeffer Photography | by nafisaparween
A photographer whose range includes newborns to weddings, Kristine wanted a logo that was soft and feminine. I’m drawn to this logo because it isn’t “put together,” ya know? The script font used has a little hand-written touch to it. And the circles don’t line up, giving off a scribbly look. Put together the logo has a hand-crafted feel that still looks professional.
“Nafisaparween is an excellent designer who understood my style perfectly. I love my logo, she is very talented. Overall I am very happy, and I really couldn’t wish for a better logo. Her designs are one step above the rest.”
Little Dragons | by peacock
This martial arts business was in need of a graphic for their children’s program. This design by peacock is on target! I’m instantly drawn to the smile of the dragon on the right. Both dragons look friendly, and with their bright colors are great for kids. The shading on the suits and dragons look accurate (something a little tricky to accomplish). These dragons together make a very impressive illustration I’m sure kids will love!
“Awesome work and creative, also converting your ideas into final logo. Thanks!”
Mama Wants to Write | by xiaolanmao393
I love how this design screams off the white background in magenta and gray. “Mama” is a first-time blogger, sharing her tips and experiences. The woman looks modern-chic. I like the sparkly highlights on her dress, it gives the impression of an upscale outfit without going overboard. Adding the feather at the end of “write” helps bring home the writing topic.
“Great designer that created just the logo I was looking for. Very easy to work with and responded to questions/requests very quickly.”
Meals on Wheels of Tampa | by wendeesigns
While I like the sans serifed font on this logo, it’s the icon that steals the show. It says so much with so little. For starters, there’s the plate that, in gray, doubles as a tire wheel. The heart inside is a great indicator that they are traveling with love. The uneven form of the heart with the break in the lower right side is refreshingly different. Last, the spoon and fork not only curve with the plate giving it movement, but having the fork opposite end of the spoon gives it motion. If you’re not familiar with the business, Meals on Wheels delivers hot meals for individuals that are usually alone. Awesome design for a worthy cause.
“Wendee was so helpful and made sure that everything was perfect before the final project was delivered. I would work with her again. Thank you!”
The Ocean Artist | by hwkomp
An artist who creates vivid paintings of the ocean, The Ocean Artist wanted an icon in his logo that alluded to the barreling of the waves and could be used by itself. I believe this design nails it. The circles peal back and the innermost ones become straight at the bottom. It’s a great minimal symbol of a barreling wave, easily recognizable and very attractive.
“hwcomp was able to understand exactly what I was looking for. I am suuuper happy with his design. fast revisions too.”
Paws of Par | by jaize
A professional dog groomer, Paws of Par is a small, home-based business. When you think about taking a dog to the groomers, three things come to mind: a bath, a nail trim, and a haircut. Jaize does a great job incorporating all three into this logo design. The cool blue and purple are paired well with magenta, making the design seem fun and exciting. Plus look how happy that dog is, you know he’s getting well taken care of!
“Loved the design, hit the brief, was quick to respond to all revision requests. Top class! “
PhiFiber | by Ajan
This logo make me smile just looking at it. A sheep with glasses and a graduation hat? Maybe it’s the face the sheep is making. Either way, this logo is a winner for me because of how the line are of the sheep matches the feel of the font. It’s a very wise combination. PhiFiber caters to craftsmen working with fiber and yarn. This logo makes knitting seem like a ton of fun, it’s even got a bit of a “hipster” vibe going on.
“really willing to work with you and dealt well with many minor tweaks. “
Top Secret Enterprise | by prodesign
TSE is a sales and marketing group that distributes automotive products. They also offer marketing consulting services. What I love about this logo from prodesign is that I can see it as a hood ornament on a car. The shading on the “T” and it’s three piece circle are unique, with some unexpected curves. I think that adds interest and ties it to the secret part of the name. Great design!
“Great work and effort! Top notch work!!!! Will work with again in the future!”
Warbirds | by Rick
As I’m sure you’ve deduced, I made this one! I won’t be so vain as to tell you why my own work is so amazing. I will tell you that I personally enjoy working on athletic themed logos. It’s an area of design that I want to improve myself in. With that in mind, I am very pleased with how this logo turned out. Because of my personal goals, it is one of my favorite designs that I’ve created this year.
“I invited Rick to participate in our hockey team logo after viewing his portfolio (which was impressive). We are very glad he took the challenge because he knocked it out of the park on the first design. Nicely done! GO WARBIRDS!”
There you have it! I hope you were inspired by the amazing logos from this post.
