I prefer more clean and simple, but striking impactful designs. They've got to look racey. I like a tachometer and or checkered flag. Not a fan of car silhouette or flames. I am open to something like stripes of a curvy track (road racing). Did not see anything like that in your logo examples. I did find a logo designed on this site that was not part of your selection to choose from. I did choose the one they actually went with, but I really like their second choice the best. It is McLaughlin Motorsports. I really like the way the M is a custom font and used as the tach needle. 

Two other logos from above that really strike me are the Wilzig Racing Manor and TCS Motorsports. A little twist on the Wilzig logo could easily become a road racing thing. Great logo. Although I really do like all the others with the tach and flag. I love the way that Wilzig logo went in it's own direction and looks dynamic. The more I look at that logo the more I Love It. Have fun and get creative. I would love to see something out of the box as well. I am not a designer, but appreciate what you do and love to see creative designers take the less traveled path.

Colors:
CURRENTLY our car is more of a turquoise base color with black and a white highlight stripe. I think using something like either a dark navy or black with white (or possibly silver) and a splash of red would look good on the turquoise.
