Congruence in psychology refers to the following: "This means that self-actualization occurs when a person’s “ideal self” (i.e., who they would like to be) is congruent with their actual behavior (self-image). Rogers describes an individual who is actualizing as a fully functioning person." So for congruence, the different parts of yourself line up. If you are incongruent, your ideas/behaviours/actions/beliefs don't line up with the life you're living. So part of my work is to help people become their best selves/parents/partners/people they can be.
