Reason why we picked Mrs. Cook as name: Historical records have traced the origins of this type of tree to New Guinea, the Maluku Islands and the Philippines,and previous species were disseminated throughout the Pacific thanks to the so-called Austronesian travelers. But was Captain James Cook who brought to the Caribbean the fruit we know today around 1769, with the intention of transforming it into the main food of the colonies. Just as Cook did so many centuries ago, Mrs. Cook intends to take the breadfruit to new frontiers.
